About
Collaborative Law
In
the collaborative family law process couples work together with
their lawyers in 4 way face to face meetings to find solutions to
issues arising from their separation, particularly relating to children
and division of assets.
This
is a new and constructive way of working together which is both
non-adversarial and transparent, quite different to the traditional
divorce process where solicitors negotiate by correspondence. Everyone
agrees at the outset that the Court will not be involved other than
to approve any agreement reached.
The
collaborative process helps to ensure that you and your partner
remain in control and that the key decisions you make about your
future and the future of your children are yours, and not made by
a judge who you only meet on the day of a court hearing.
